East Meets West Orphans Foundation
Who We Are
Our organization was born out of sheer love for a little girl who found her "forever" family and came to Canada. Seeing her thrive was the inspiration to set up a charity to help other abandoned children find fulfillment.
East Meets West was established in 2008 and registered as a Charity through the Government of Canada. Our mandate is to provide medical treatment and educational training for abandoned and destitute children in Kolkata, India. We have financed dozens of children needing necessary medical care and surgical procedures. Many of these children have found their own "forever" families at home or abroad, in countries like Canada, the United States and various European nations. This year we also sponsored a creche for children of slum dwellers. The crèche provides over thirty young children with food, early education and medical care.
We receive funds from private donations and fundraisers. All of our Board Members are volunteers. Our aim is to help those who can't help themselves and all of our funds go directly to the orphanage to give those "forgotten" children a chance at life.
East Meets West Orphans Foundation seeks to improve the lives of abandoned children:
a) “By providing health care education and necessary medical treatment for children living in orphanages in developing nations”
b) By providing education and life-skills training for children living in orphanages in developing nations”
